It was revealed that Yandex.Market Marketplace allowed the sale of goods sourced from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s approved list of parallel imports. Wildberries and Ozon had done the same.
According to data available, the sellers of Yandex.Market agree that the products they sell comply with Russian legislation. In all cases, the marketplace asks sellers for documentation that allows it to trace the origin of the goods. If the seller does not have such a document, or it is proven to be fake, the product cards will be hidden and sellers’ accounts blocked.
This week, Wildberries and Ozon announced that they were permitted to sell goods from the parallel imported list on their websites. Wildberries stated that this will increase the existing assortment and stabilize the prices. All permits will be required for sellers. Sellers who attempt to sell counterfeit products will be banned if they are found guilty of violating the law. Ozon also promised to make sure that no fakes or low-quality products are listed on the website.
