Google began advertising products and stores on televisions from different manufacturers.
Advertisements on smart TVs are now expected on any platform. In fact, they have been dominating Android TV for the past few decades. Google TV now has even more ads.
In 2020, Google TV’s first ads featured ads. These ads were referred to as recommendations of content. They showed TV shows and movies that could be viewed on various streaming platforms and apps. This changed when Google TV and Android TV started showing movie trailers in online cinemas and Google TV also showed movie ads.
Users are finding out that Google TV ads have been used to hook up physical goods and offline stores. These ads were first noticed by users in India, where India iStore began advertising. This phenomenon isn’t limited to India. For example, an advertisement for American Chrysler was noticed. In Canada, Tim Horton’s coffee chain has been promoted. Advertisements are displayed on TVs of various manufacturers, such as Sony to OnePlus. They are however linked by a software shell, Google TV.
Google TV is an extension of Android TV. It’s not an operating system in its own right. It launched on the Chromecast media platform in October 2020.
