Martin Wahlund, cofounder and CEO at the Swedish studio Fatshark has written an open letter to players about the problems with cooperative first-person shooter Warhammer 40,000, Darktide.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide arrived on PC in November 2022. The game’s Steam reviews have been largely negative due to bugs and technical issues.
Walund stated that Warhammer 40,000 Darktide was a team goal. “to create a game that is highly engaging and stable, with depth that will keep you playing for weeks, not hours”However, it is not “Lived upto those expectations”.
Fatshark will spend the next few months improving the game, based on player feedback. Full crafting, a more generous progression, stability improvements and additional performance optimizations.
The developers have changed their priorities and are postponing seasonal content, Warhammer 40,000 Darktide and Warhammer X-S series X and S releases, and suspending the production of premium cosmetics.
“We just couldn’t go on knowing there were so many problems in the game today. Thank you for your feedback and game. We are very grateful to them. They have helped and will continue to help improve the game we love.”Valund concluded.
Warhammer 40,000 Darktide can be purchased on Steam, Microsoft Store, and PC Game Pass. As outcasts, players will need to join the Inquisition fanatical and capture Tertius the hive city from the forces Chaos.
