Twitter’s microblogging service is currently testing a new “Author Liked” tag. This will be displayed when a thread’s owner “likes” one or more comments. TechCrunch highlighted a new feature in the next version of the Twitter app.
A spokesperson for Twitter confirmed to the publication that they are testing different tagging tweets in order to better understand how users view content. Twitter declined to comment further. The new feature works very simply at the moment: When the creator of a topic “likes”, one of the comments appears under that comment. Both the author of the comment as well as the other participants can see the icon. However, it is not clear where the new function will be tested. Reports indicate that it was detected in the application from many countries.
It is worth noting that Twitter’s tag is very similar to the TikTok icon for “liked by author”, which appears when a comment has been “liked” or “liked” by creators of the video. This innovation can cause messages to be overloaded on Twitter with proprietary information. A celebrity may “like” such a mark, but community members might be delighted to receive it. This function is useful for highlighting comments in a lengthy thread without having to reply to them. Unfortunately, this feature will not be made available to everyone anytime soon.
