The war in Ukraine is ongoing for three months, and new weapons keep appearing on the frontlines. One example is the ultra-modern Brimstone Missiles. A recording of the test of… an unusual missile launcher has been posted online.
In Ukraine, Brimstone missiles were discovered
Brimstone is an air to ground-class guided missile that can precisely target armored targets. It was famously used in the conflict in Afghanistan and Libya.
It is highly praised for its precise operation. This is a “fire-and-forget” missile. It has an active radar guidance head that allows it to be programmed to target certain types of targets. The projectile will self-destruct if it cannot find the correct object. It has been upgraded to Brimstone 2, with improved range and laser guidance.
Brimstone is a modern weapon which allows you precisely to destroy targets and still keep the enemy from your sights
The Brimstone missiles can be launched from either land or sea platforms and are carried by Tornado GR.4, Eurofighter Typhoon, Harrier GR.9 and Tornado GR.4 aircraft. The equipment was delivered by the Ukrainian government (photos of fragments from an early version of Brimstone 1 have been uploaded to the internet) – although no active reports have been made about the weapon, it could be used to destroy Russian equipment.
The Ukrainians concealed the Brimstone missile launcher inside the delivery van
A video showing an unusual Brimstone missile launcher was posted recently. It was hidden in an empty delivery truck.
These videos show the firing of a volley Brimstone missiles under the tarpaulin on a Fiat Ducato delivery vehicle.
This suggests that it is not a “combat use” of the equipment but rather a test at the training grounds. The ingenuity and cleverness of the designers is impressive. The creativity and cleverness of the designers is remarkable. The Ukrainian army will be able surprise attack their enemy by hiding the weapon in its delivery van, as it will have a lower chance of detection.
