The BTR-82A, a wheeled combat vehicle, was built between 2009 and 2010. In 2011, the first units were handed to the Russian Federation troops. It replaces the well-known BTR-80 model, which was built in the 1990s. The BTR-82A has a 30mm 2A72 cannon and a 7.62mm PKTM gun. The vehicle also features a stronger engine, reinforced armor, and an exterior communication system.
The BTR-82A could be described as a wheeled infantry fighting car. Although the basic crew is limited to three, there might still be seven soldiers in the vehicle. Over 2,000 of these machines are owned by the Russian Federation, and many of them are currently in use in Ukraine.

Effect? The effect?
Experts believe that a shaped charge would have a greater effect and possibly even destroy the vehicle. This attack was executed by the Aerorozvidka unit, which used the R18 drone. The main graphic shows the BTR-82A that was damaged during the 2014 fighting for eastern Ukraine.
