According to Reuters CEO Parag Agrawal met with employees to discuss the most pressing questions about the company’s future after the deal was closed with Elon Musk who, this week, agreed to purchase it for $44billion. Twitter’s management is not yet clear on the direction of the platform’s development after Elon Musk’s transition.
The Twitter head answered a question regarding the possibility of Donald Trump returning to Twitter. Trump was banned from accessing Twitter for life after January 2021’s events, which saw mass protests in Washington. Trump, however, voiced dissatisfaction over the treatment of his by Twitter and stated that he didn’t plan on returning to this platform. Trump also expressed support for Elon Musk’s activities, but preferred to use Truth Social, a social network that was specifically created for this purpose, to express his thoughts.
In his address to employees of Twitter, the head of Twitter also stated that work would continue as usual until Musk’s deal is completed and that no staff reductions were being planned. A question and answer session will soon be held for the future owner of the company, which will allow the potential owner to address the audience. Parag Agrawal suggested that Trump address Elon Musk in a future event regarding the question about Trump’s return on Twitter. According to the latest information, the company’s current CEO will be fired if he is not fired within 12 months of the transition of Twitter under Musk’s control. That is about the same amount as the CEO’s annual income.
