Revenue increased by as much as 2% in general
Microsoft has released a report on its second quarter fiscal year 2023.
The company’s revenue increased by 2% to $52.7billion, while net income dropped by 12% to $16.4billion.
This is far below Microsoft’s best quarter. These results can be attributed to several factors. First, the decline in revenue for manufacturers of laptops with Windows operating systems and PC sales overall is evident. Second, Microsoft device sales fell by 39%.
It was also not the most pleasant way to feel during the last quarter. The Xbox division saw a decline in revenue. Sales of games fell 13% and hardware sales declined by the same amount. This is mainly due to consoles. Revenue from services and services also fell by 12%.
Microsoft acknowledges the Game Pass’s continued growth, but does not give any information about revenue or number of users.
