Local reviewers ITHome and Expreview received the MTT S80 desktop graphics card from Chinese manufacturer Moore Threads. It features a proprietary graphics processing unit. The local reviewers ITHome, Expreview, and ZOL Network shared their findings. They concluded that while the video card had potential, it was hampered by huge software issues.
According to the specifications, the MTT S80 is based upon a Chunxiao 7nm 1.8GHz CPU based on the advanced MT Unified System Architecture. It has 4096 cores to perform FP32 operations, and 128 tensorcores.
The 16 GB GDDR6 memory was used to create the video card. It supports a 256-bit bus, speeds of 14 Gb / s, and bandwidths of 448 GB / s. The novelty is now available for purchase. Its price is approximately $270. It is the first global graphics accelerator that supports PCIe 5.0 interface standards.
OCL Bandwidth Test data confirms that the interface can deliver PCIe 5.0 throughput up to 32GT/s. This is twice the values declared for PCIe 4.0. For Moore Threads MTT S80 however, these interface features proved to be redundant.
It is quite curious that the reviewers who received a card to study used nearly the same set of gaming and synthetic tests to test it. It is obvious that the capabilities of the Chinese novelty’s graphics driver are very limited. It is still not optimized and has many limitations when it comes to supporting different software and games.
Moore Threads MTT S80 supports DirectX 9 only. DirectX 11 support has also been announced at the hardware level. At the code level, DX11 support is still in progress. Reviewers were unable to test the card using traditional methods. The card was tested using very old synthetic tests, and some of the most recent games.
Expreview states that the Moore Threads MTT S80 Graphics Card is compatible with 12 games: League of Legends. Crossfire. QQ Speed. Fantasy Westward Journey. Audition. Running Kart. Diablo 3 (32-bit), Ultimate Street Fighter IV. Siege. My World. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 3. Manufacturers indicate that launch is possible for 60 additional titles. However, optimization is not yet available. They will function, but may have various image artifacts, FPS drawdowns, and general instability.
