Pangolin, an updated model of the System76 brand’s Linux laptops, has been added to the family. Compared to its predecessor, the laptop has added processing power, and at the same time it has acquired an “esports” screen.
The novelty features a 15.6 inch display with Full HD resolution at 144 Hz. The “heart” of the laptop was the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor with AMD Radeon 680M graphics. You can install up to 16 TB of NVMe drives using two M.2 slots.
The novelty running Pop!_OS or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (user choice) allows for smooth operation of popular applications and games with high frame rates. Depending on the application, the claimed autonomy of a single 70Wh battery can last up to 10 hours.
The vendor also notes the magnesium alloy case, backlit keyboard and Wi-Fi 6E/Bluetooth 5.2 modules. There is also a gigabit Ethernet connector and an HDMI 2.0 connector. The System76 Pangolin updated will be available for purchase in the second quarter of February 2023, at a cost of $1299.
