Samsung presented four new monitors simultaneously at CES. Two curved gaming models were introduced and two flat models for designers and photographers. They all come in the flagship segment, and have advanced technical features.
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 has a 57 inch curved matrix (1000R), with micro-LED backlight, and a resolution (7680×2160 pixels) in a 32:9 aspect ratio. The novelty supports a refresh rate up to 240 Hz and has been certified by the VESA DisplayHDR1000 standard (peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2) and received DisplayPort 2.1 connector.
Odyssey OLED G9 models with a 49 inch OLED-matrix (51×1440 pixels) have the same aspect ratios as the older model but differ in the curvature index (1800R). The OLED-matrix has a declared contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000 to 1. The response time is between 0.1 and 240 Hz. The firmware can also be used offline, without the need to connect to a computer. This allows you to watch Netflix, YouTube, and cloud gaming via NVIDIA geForce Now.
The Samsung ViewFinityS9 27-inch monitor is designed for designers and photographers. The 5K resolution monitor has 5120×2880 pixels, coverage of 99% DCI P3 color space, color accuracy delta E 2 and supports manual calibration via mobile application.
The monitor comes with Thunderbolt 4 and Type-C ports. These ports can be used to connect to a Windows PC or to connect multiple devices to the Monitor. SlimFit 4K is a webcam that can be used to video conference using the Google Meet application.
Samsung Smart Monitor, M8 features a 27 inch diagonal screen at 4K resolution. It is available in four body colours: white, blue green, green, and pink. It supports operation without connecting to a computer and comes with a Bluetooth module. It allows you to set up a display locking feature after losing your mobile device’s pairing, and also allows you to view content on your smartphone’s monitor. User files are also encrypted with Samsung Knox Vault technology.
An announcement will follow about the launch date and the new product price.
