Since a while, users of iPad and iPhone have reported crashes in Safari browser. Safari does not allow for you to search words or phrases that begin with certain combinations of letters. After users attempted to type three letters for certain words, the app crashed.
According to media reports the problem affected iOS 16 users as well as iOS 15 users. While the cause of the crash remains unknown, users have reported that the problem has been fixed.
Devices running iOS 15.7.1, iOS 16, iOS 16.1, iOS 16.1.1, and iOS 16.2 beta are known to crash, according to MacRumors. The browser crashed when the user tried to enter Walmart in the search box. It happened immediately after the user entered “wal”
It was later discovered that search suggestions could be disabled to solve the problem. It is now known that the problem affected Latin letters – tar and bes, wal and wel.
The bug is believed to be in the server portion of the service. Some reports claim that Apple has already addressed the issue, even without updating its operating systems. It was previously reported that Safari browsers had more than 1 billion users.
