Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 with faster CPU and better energy efficiency; utilizes Snapdragon X62 5G modem for dual SIM support.

Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2

In China, Qualcomm has introduced the new generation of its Snapdragon 7 series processor in the form of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. According to Qualcomm, this processor offers faster CPU performance by up to 50 percent and improved GPU performance by up to two times compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it provides better energy efficiency with a boost of around13 percent.

New Processor Features

The technical novelty in this chip is that it features Qualcomm’s X62 modem for dual SIM support involving both mmWave and sub-6Ghz connectivity options. This combination can deliver speeds as high as4.4 Gbps.

First Devices Launching Soon?

This new chipset may hit markets soon since some devices using it could be launched during Q1of2023 accordingto hints from Redmi and Realme.Qualcomm will release more information regarding availability closer towards launch date announcements.
