For now, it’s just an assumption.
Nvidia could stop making discrete entry-level mobile graphics cards.
Although the ITHome resource doesn’t have any data on the subject, it draws attention to several factors which indirectly suggest that the GeForce family might not be continued.
Firstly the GeForce MX570/MX550 models were announced in late 2021. Secondly, Nvidia unveiled the new mobile GeForce RTX at the last CES event 2023, but did not unveil the MX. Secondly AMD integrated GPUs are performing at the same level as basic discrete solutions. The Radeon 680M was introduced last year and Nvidia presented new Ryzen APUs featuring even more powerful iGPUs. The mobile RTX4050 TDP is 35 watts. This is the lower limit of the RTX4060, as well as the RTX4070. The MX570’s upper limit is 45W. Nvidia is yet to release a replacement model for the mobile GTX 1650. This device will remain in service but will be priced lower.
Perhaps the GeForce family of MX cards doesn’t have a niche on the market. However, remember that MX models have been announced separately from other cards. That is to say, the last event at CES 2023 where newer products weren’t presented is not an indicator.
