It’s not secret that Apple is and Google are both competitors in many areas of business. According to the Financial Times, however, this situation could quickly worsen. Referring to industry sources, journalists claim that Apple intends to completely exclude all the main services of the “rival” from its OS.
According to the publication Apple chose to “click on Google” in three areas simultaneously. These are cartography and search engine as well as advertising. Reporters claim that Apple Maps will soon replace Google Maps. The recently introduced Business Connect feature, which is similar to the one Google developed in partnership with Yelp but allows for closer integration with iOS such as support to Apple Pay, is also being used.
Apple Search is also being developed. According to Pantheon’s chief strategist officer Josh Koenig the move could decrease Google’s presence on the search market, where it currently holds the lead at 92 percent.
Cupertinites took up advertising. This is how Google makes a lot of its income. Apple, on the other hand, wants to create an entirely new platform. The company will be able to modify the way advertising is shown to users of its branded digital technology, and also block third-party data. Analysts predict that Apple’s actions could lead to a breakup of relations between the two companies in the future. The publication of Financial Times was not commented on by the vendor.
