Zhejiang Lante Optics supplies 100 million modules
Jeff Pu, analyst at Apple, claims that the iPhone 15 Pro will be equipped with a 5x optical zoom periscope lens.
He said that Apple was in negotiations with Zhejiang Lante Optics. Zhejiang Lante Optics will be the supplier of the periscope lens.
Apple is currently evaluating samples. Approval should be obtained before May of this year. If the negotiations succeed, Zhejiang Lante Optics components could be supplied in 100 million units.
The 48-megapixel camera was added to the iPhone 14 Pro’s last year, replacing the 12-megapixel lens that has been used for six decades. The periscope camera, which Android smartphones have used for many years, is missing from the iPhone.
Apple will present the iPhone 15 in September if it follows the established schedule.
