There are currently more than 2,000,000 HarmonyOS developers
Huawei held a conference for developers this afternoon. Yu Chengdong, the head of Huawei’s consumer business, spoke on the stage about the success and challenges of HarmonyOS.
Yu Chengdong revealed that the number of Huawei smartphones equipped with HarmonyOS has surpassed 320 million units. The number of HarmonyOS devices has grown by 113% in the last year. The number of HarmonyOS-compatible devices shipped grew by 212% over the past year.
Today, more than 2,000,000 HarmonyOS ecosystem developers are involved (close to double that of a year ago and nearly 20 times more over 2 years ago). There are also more than 2,200 partner companies who release new HarmonyOS compatible devices.
Huawei intends to continue developing and improving the OpenHarmony open-source project. This will allow developers in different industries to build next-generation operating system designs.
After the US sanctions were imposed and it was impossible to continue using Android as usual, Huawei had to switch to HarmonyOS. The manufacturer made HarmonyOS an operating system that could be used on all devices, not just smartphones.
