Google Pay is a payment system that lets you make payments online, in apps and in stores. Unfortunately, Google Pay will soon be removed from the marketplace.
This information is not new. A few weeks ago, there was talk about a change to the application icon. This would now represent the wallet. English version of Wallet. These were just mentions at the time. We didn’t have any official information on Google’s future plans.
Google Wallet, a mobile payment system that uses Google Wallet, was introduced to the market in 2011. It offered the ability to store credit, debit and loyalty cards. Google created something new over time and decided to combine Wallet and Google Pay, thereby expanding the functionality of the service. We now know that Google intends to go back to its roots. Just as Wallet changed into Pay, so will Pay.

This will allow for an increase in functionality and ease of use of the digital wallet. We will be able not only to connect our payment cards to it, but also to store digital copies of documents, tickets for public transport or events, as well as digital keys and tickets for air tickets.
Importantly, it was made immediately clear that this change will be applied to most markets including Poland and will affect both the Wear OS app and the Android app. Although all users should have access to the same thing in theory, you may already be familiar with how it works in practice. There are a lot of options that are only available in certain markets, mostly the USA. In this instance, we need to be aware that the logo and name will not be identical for all users. Google Wallet will not be available in a separate app. The changes may also be included in a major update.

It is also unknown when it will occur. It was mentioned that it would happen “soon”, but in the context of a company, this can be a time span of many weeks or months. There are however, changes that will eventually come to Poland.
