Elon Musk, billionaire, made the announcement that he was going to do his own research on the number of bots among Twitter users to determine the extent of the problem before buying a social networking site.
Musk declared on Friday that he would suspend his Twitter purchase after a report about the performance of the social network in the first quarter 2022. The report revealed that around 5% of the monetized daily active Twitter account accounts were fake or used for spam.
“To find out, my team will randomly sample 100 @twitter followers,” — WriteMusk tweeted a link to his platform account which has more that 61,000,000 subscribers. He invited other members to do a similar review. “And they will see what they find.”
Elon Musk stated that he took 100 accounts as a test sample to verify the numbers, as Twitter uses them in their calculations.
Remember that Twitter, a social network, announced on April 25 that it had accepted Musk’s offer to buy. Twitter later acknowledged publicly that less than 5% were fake and spam accounts in its first quarter 2022 monetized daily active user base.
