DxOMark Labs tested battery performance of the iPhone 14 Plus in a variety scenarios. Although the battery performance was not as good as that of the Pro Max model iPhone 14 Plus, it still showed excellent value for money.
iPhone 14 Plus features a 4323 mAh lithium battery that supports fast charging at 20W. Apple A15 Bionic’s mobile processor and a 6.7 inch OLED display with a resolution 2778×1284 pixels are the main “consumers”.
According to DxOMark the list of strengths for the device’s power systems was extensive. The experts noted that:
- In a typical case, the product performs well
- High autonomy even during video streaming, especially in calibrated mode
- Active GPS gives you good autonomy
- Both wired and wireless chargers have low residual consumption
- Good wireless charging speed
- Low discharge current
Wired charging was the only problem, which proved to be very ineffective. It took 2hrs and 29 minutes for the battery to be fully charged, while the wireless charger was able to do it in 2hrs and 54 minutes. The battery will last for 39 hours when the device is used for active 7-hour days. In the “easy” mode, it takes 2.5 hours per day to charge the battery. Autonomy can reach 90 hours with the easy mode (2 hours and 54 minutes).
According to the results of testing, the iPhone 14 Plus managed to score 128 points and take 27th place in the overall autonomy rating, and among the “ultra-premium” models, the device became the fourth, moving the HUAWEI P50 Pro down one line.
