The Prime Minister approved the legalization cryptocurrency
According to the prime minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), may become legal tender in March 2019.
Terrance Drew is the Caribbean’s finance minister. He said that the decision will be made after due diligence and consultations with experts, as well as the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
The government statement also mentions the need to address issues of financial security as well as the safety of savings.
The island chain will be joined by El Salvador and Central African Republic, which have governments that support cryptocurrency as a payment method.
Bitcoin Cash is a fork (creating a copy and modifying it while the original project still functions, but the fork develops in its own direction). This fork was created in 2017 to make transactions quicker and easier. Terrance explained that some local businesses are already adopting BCH.
