AyaNeo, a Chinese company, has unveiled the AyaNeo 2 portable gaming console. The console features the latest mobile AMD Ryzen6000 series (Rembrandt), which is based on Zen 3+ architecture with a 6-nm process tech.
AyaNeo2 is based upon an 8-core Ryzen 7 6800U (16-thread) with a frequency range between 2.7 and 4.7 GHz. Its maximum frequency can be 300 MHz higher that the Ryzen 7 6800U (Cezanne), used in AyaNeo Next. RDNA 2 is the basis of integrated graphics on the Ryzen7 6800U processor. It is also used in the Steam Deck portable console’s AMD Aerith custom processor.
AyaNeo 2, with its integrated Radeon 680M graphics processor and 12 compute units, will have iGPU performance that is significantly higher than any competitor. This is four more blocks than Steam Deck. An additional plus is the operation of the Radeon 680M at a higher frequency – up to 2.2 GHz, i.е. 600 MHz more than the Valve set top box. The integrated GPU in AyaNeo2 is twice as fast as the Valve set-top box, with 3.38 Tflops for AyaNeo 2, and Steam Deck at 1.6 Tflops. Aya’s head stated that the new console’s graphics speed is comparable to that of the GeForce GTX 1050T.
The Ryzen 7 6800U processor has a dynamic TDP range of 15 to 28 W. This allows you to select the power consumption that is right for your task. Modern portable consoles can usually be connected to an external charger or special docking station to maximize the TDP. The same Steam Deck functions in this mode.
AyaNeo 2 demonstrated the functionality of the device in different games. On the console were also launched Metro Exodus (Cyberpunk 2077), Witcher 3 Elden Ring and others. Apparently, the console is equipped with a display with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels. The frameless screen makes AyaNeo 2 stand out against the background of the Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch.
The console will also be equipped with a fingerprint scanner, and other software features that the company isn’t yet ready to reveal. AyaNeo 2 will be available by the end this year. The exact release date is not yet known.
