AMD CEO Lisa Su announced today that the non-X Ryzen 7000 series has been released. This includes the Ryzen 9 7900 models, Ryzen7 7700, and Ryzen7 7600 models. These processors all have a TDP rating 65W and are priced lower than the X models at $429-329 and $229 respectively.
X3D Processors
Zen4’s Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor will be included in the Zen4 product line. It has 16 cores, 144MB of cache and 16 cores. The processor’s maximum frequency is 5.7Ghz. However, it has the same speed as the Ryzen9 7950X. The TDP has been decreased by 50W to 120W. AMD confirmed the Ryzen 9 7900X3D, 12 cores, 5.6Ghz maximum speed and 140MB cache, as well as the Ryzen 9 7800X3D, 8 cores and a maximum frequency of 5.0Ghz, and Ryzen 7 7800X3D, with 104MB Cache.
Performance
AMD claims that the new processors perform 21-30% faster in esports than the Core 9-13900K, while the Ryzen 9 7950X is 9% to 24% faster for gaming. V-Cache will be applied only to one Ryzen 7000X3D series chip, specifically the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. This Ryzen 9 has two 8-core core chips connected to Infinity Fabric. There is 64MB L3 Cache on one of the chips and 32MB L3 Cache on the other. Together, this gives a total of 144MB.
Pricing and availability
AMD confirmed that Ryzen 7000X3D processors would be available starting February, but didn’t specify any dates or prices.
Conclusion
The Ryzen7000 series processors offer powerful performance at an attractive price. AMD is certain to become a major player on the gaming market, with the addition X3D processors.
